What Is A Life Coach?

pamFinal.JPG

Don't let others plan and direct your life for you. Don't be the person who, later in their life, says, "If only..."

A Life Coach is a professional who provides the framework, questions, exercises and accountability for you to make the positive changes you want in your life.

Some people expect a Life Coach to tell them what to do.  In reality, a Life Coach prompts you to tell him or her what YOU want to do. The coaching agenda comes from you. You are in charge, while the Coach helps guide.

It is the collaboration in the coaching relationship that creates opportunity and change. Remember, coaching is about forward action and positive change.

Let me clarify that Life Coaching is not psychotherapy or working on past-based issues or traumas.

Why Would I Need A Life Coach?

You realize that struggling alone is not productive. Working with me as your Life Coach, you will:

  • Learn how to stop dwelling on things you cannot change

  • Focus on things you can control

  • Utilize available resources

  • Invest in things that give meaning and purpose to your life

  • Use tools and techniques to improve your social interactions

  • Change your behaviors and gain new perspectives

How Do We Begin?

In our FREE Discovery Consultation, we’ll discuss what’s going on in your life now and what you want to change. We’ll talk about what’s really important to you and determine if your life’s priorities are compatible with your new goals.

If you agree that you are ready and committed to begin, we’ll put the coaching process into action. The time commitment for coaching is unique to each person. It generally involves a 50-minute weekly session over a three-month period. This time can be extended as needed.  Here are the five basic steps:

Identify         Your Goals

Design           A Realistic and Measurable Plan

Resolve         Conflicts or Blocks

Learn             New Perspectives, Communication Skills and Behaviors

Embrace       Weekly Accountability Homework Assignments
